Refugee Support Devon team takes hate crime awareness training | Hate Crime Awareness Week
This week is HateCrimeAwarenessWeek.
Earlier this week, Refugee Support Devon staff and volunteers took part in a Hate Crime Awareness training session with officers from Devon and Cornwall Police.
We learned:
- What a hate crime is
- How to report a hate crime
- How we can best support our clients in reporting one
Being attacked or prejudiced against because of your:
- Disability
- Gender identity
- Race or ethnicity
- Religion or belief
- Sexual orientation
- Sex or gender
…can be considered a hate crime.
Everyone deserves to feel safe and respected. If you or someone you know has experienced a hate crime, please report it. We’re proud to know that we can support anyone in our community who needs help to do so.
