Katrina is walking 192 miles for Refugee Support Devon!
Our wonderful volunteer, Katrina is taking on the challenge of walking 192 miles coast to coast for Refugee Support Devon.
Here's why's she doing it, in her words:
"On 29th August, I set off to walk 192 miles coast to coast with my corgi Phoebe. As I was walking I thought about how privileged I am to be able to take on a challenge like this - to walk across a country simply because I can. No war or conflict to stop me, not having to worry about having food to eat or a bed to sleep in.
So I decided to use this challenge as an opportunity to fundraise for Refugee Support Devon (RSD). I’m proud to volunteer for RSD and it has given me a real insight into just how little funding they have - and just how much they can achieve with it. Every pound really does make a difference.
At a time when anti-migrant sentiment and hostility are increasing, organisations like RSD are needed more than ever. They provide not only practical help, but kindness, dignity and a sense of belonging to people who have often been through unimaginable experiences."
