All best wishes for a healthy and safe 2021.
As we enter the new national lockdown we have had to review how we operate some of our services once again. Face to face appointments will only be possible where help cannot be offered by telephone or video meeting.
Much of our work is completely reliant on grants and private donations. All donations are welcome, no matter how big or small, and all contribute towards our on-going work with the local asylum seeking and refugee community. We particularly seek private donations to help support our destitution fund which can financially help those who find themselves in a critical situation with no other forms of support. Please see our news area for information about other current appeals and campaigns.
Support Our Work
You can quickly and easily set up a donation - one-off, or create a regular donation and help our 400 appeal - using the link below, or you can set up your own donation or standing order through your online banking. Just quote the following bank details:
Refugee Support Devon Ltd
Sort Code 08 92 99
Account no 6584 9280
Doing this direct avoids any fees collected by third parties for processing donations!
Please don’t forget to contact us to let us know if you donate this way so we can thank you and claim gift aid if applicable. Don’t worry, if you don’t want any further contact we will not automatically add you to any distribution lists.
We are also able to accept cheques – please make them payable to Refugee Support Devon Ltd and post to the administrator at our office.
Other ways you can help
If you wish to raise funds for us or organise a sponsored event, you can set up a fundraising page through Total Giving. This is a great way of reaching out to more friends, family and acquaintances, and donations received through this site are received directly through our paypal account.
We are an Amazon Smile charity which provides us with donations from Amazon with no additional cost to you! Sign up here.
We are also an Ebay charity – we can be added as an optional donation when people make purchases from you, or a percentage of profits can be donated to us – details here.
Other kinds of donation
We are always happy to receive vouchers that can be redeemed in High Street shops, on public transport services or against household utility bills, however it is best to contact us before you buy so we can tell you what we need most.
Remember RSD in your will
For advice about how to leave a legacy to Refugee Support Devon please speak to a solicitor or a will-writer. You will need the following details:
Refugee Support Devon, Exeter Community Centre, 17 St Davids Hill, Exeter EX4 3RG; Registered charity no.1143884. Phone 01392 682185. http://refugeesupportdevon.org.uk
Unfortunately, RSD has very little storage space so we cannot accept donations of clothing, furniture, household goods, toys, food or similar items except in response to specific appeals. If you have items like this which you wish to donate we recommend you contact RAFT (Refugee Aid from Taunton) as they frequently collect such items to distribute to refugee camps. They will be able to advise of any collection points local to you.
If you would like to donate your time by volunteering with RSD we would love to hear from you. Please visit our volunteering page for more information.
